Samantha's Story

Hmmm, I don't know what to say. I live east of Denver, Colorado and have been since 2006. I own a house with 35 acres (perfect country life). With lots of land I have lots of animals including horses, chickens and dogs. I spent some time in the Army Reserves as an MP (went overseas for OIF and OEF) as well as in the Air Force Reserves where I was a crew chief. I am a police officer with the city and county of Denver (patrol officer) and my husband, Brian, is also a police officer for Denver (he has an explosives detection dog). I am also a certified veterinary nurse, but I didn't stay in animal hospitals too long, the pay is VERY poor. I am also a mother of a wonderful little boy named Patrick and a beautiful little girl, Lillian. wish I could go back and do it again so that I could make more friends. I always thought people were out to get me, and I was so worried about what people thought, that I never really expressed myself. That has definitely changed!!!! I came to Colorado in 1999 and it was a great time for me, I learned a lot of things about myself and about who I wanted to be. I went to Bel-Rea Institute and became a certified veterinary technician. The labs were great and without this school, I wouldn't be as great of an animal mom as I am today. Can't really afford to work and live off a vet hospital pay check, but I will keep my certification, might come in handy later!! =) I completed my BA (2012) in Christian Studies at Grand Canyon University and am a POST Certified Firearms Instructor with the department. I became Roman Catholic in 2001 and I love the church. I am very active in the church being an ENDOW facilitator as well as Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
