Samantha Eyler:  

After high school I joined the Navy. I went to boot camp in Orlando, Florida and then got stationed in Memphis, Tennessee. I studied air traffic controlling in the Navy and mechanics. I went to Norfolk, Virginia and I got married. In Sept 1987 had a beautiful son. In 1989 got divorced and moved back to Tipp. In Aug 1993 got married, moved to Mentor, Ohio had two more children, Kaite (May 1994), and Nick (Dec 1996) and in Dec 2005 my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Eleven months later, I was a widow (Nov 2006). Two months later my mother died, and four days before she died my father had a stroke, so I moved back to Tipp and have been here since Mar 2007. While in Cleveland, I got a degree in Mathematics. I worked at Progressive Insurance for almost eight years. My late husband was the assistant city manager of Mentor so learned a lot about city government, zoning and planning. I started a business as an artist in 2000 that I still do occasionally for stress relief. I got married in Nov 2008. Just put my house up for sale Jan 2009 with plans on moving to Jackson Center and building a house on a lake. I bought a piece of land on a lake there in July 2008 to eventually build on. In 2008, I started a business as real estate investor. I travel about one week a month and do research the rest of the time. It is a great way to see the country. I have three employees that work for me and a crew of real estate agents, hopefully this year I will beable to add a few more employees. I work for myself and make all the rules, and have no one to blame when something goes wrong. I like it that way. Not that I am a control freak but I get tired of the politics that goes on at work.
