Chef Sammie Lee Jones is a seasoned Culinary Craftsman who showcases his extraodinary skills for Washington DC's premier catering company, Occcasion Caterers.
Before Chef Jones' cooking career began, he was in the small fishing town of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Later, his father moved him and his family to the thriving metropolis that is Philadelphia, PA, where he spent the majority of his youth. Upon graduating from Germantown High School in 1971, he headed straight to North Carolina A&T State University to major in Business Administration. However, the young man parted from University to test him might within the professional sports arena. Eventually Mr. Jones signed a contract to play professional baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers and Kansas City Royals miner league teams.

still retained the heart of an athlete.
Chef nes discovered his love for cooking via the phenomenal cooks that surrounded him within his family. So, he decided to take some culinary courses sponsored by the American Chef Federation, and hone his skills in the field by working in major Hotels and Restaurants such as: Hilton Washington Hotel, and B. Smith's.
Starting out as a line cook, Chef Jones worked his way up to Sous Chef, and eventually he took on the great responsibility of Executive Chef. One of the hightlights of Chef Jones' career is being featured in Ebony Magazine as one of Washington DC's premier Chef's. From this exposure emerged the great opportunity to work overseas. Charlotte Lyons, Food Editor for Ebony magazine, connected Chef Jones to an International Basketball player by the name of Irvin Latimer who needed help with his restaurant in Tallinn, EStonia (EUR) The link was made and Chef Jones was now taking his expertise to Europe, working as an Executive Chef and Consulant for Irvin's Tex-Mex Restaurant.
Chef Jones' mission is to open several authentic Southern BBQ resturants, serving customers tangy, "down home," smoked aromas, and finger-lickin' flavors to make you say Mmmm, mmm, mmm
