Samuel's Story
Life
Spent first eight years of my adult life in the Military now I am trying desperately to make up for it.
School
High School for me was a blur of anguish, fear and desperation. I knew that somehow if I held on for a little longer, I would eventually become someone. The problem was who?
College
I returned to school at the age of 35 years! I spent the first two years in a technology school, and the second two at a very cool Pennsylvania state college called Slippery Rock University. Immediately after arrival I realized what I had missed in my youth, I felt like crying. I did not get to do all the wild crazy things that the students I made friends with did, but for a time I was immersed in college life. The opportunity to live college life, even for a short time, changed me forever.

wanted nice clothes, cars, and the recognition that came along with this attractive lifestyle. The first time someone approached me and extended an invitation to "Make this Money Boy!" I didnt really know what to think. I had heard stories of Pony down and YBI. I and my friends glorified that life because of the possessions obtained with the cash this business generated. I also knew of the seriousness of urban degradation caused by the industry and the fact that young men many of which I went to school with had already died trying to "Make this Money". I don't know if it was my sense of better judgement or fear but I eventually chose the military. I have no regrets and would do it all over again if given the choice. The military gave me a chance to grow up in an environment which encouraged professional developement. I realize that even though I was forced to leave the active military that, the Army was the place where I first gained desire to succeed as a human being.
