Judy's Story
Life
I left the frigid cold Minnesota climate in 1983. I lived in the Los Angeles area for 12 years. During that time I went to school, but didn't finish. I began a nursing program, and during the program I "took a semester off." That semester lasted 11 years. So for the majority of the California days, I worked at J.C. Penney. g center destroyed, and didn't reopen for another 18 months. Then I moved to Texas in November 1995. Finally got to finish what I started in nursing in San Antonio. Now I work in an ionpatient hospice unit providing end of life care for terminally ill patients. That has its own rewards, but can also be overwhelming. Still don't feel at home in Texas, and would really like to move back to California some day.
