Well my wife Sirena (Elkins) Mitchem has most of the information on her profile what has been going on in my life. I graduated Bramwell in 1984 and married Sirena. I went to work for Nationwide Auto Parts. Worked there 5 years and became disabled due to IgA nephropathy (which are the hardening of the kidney's). I was on dialysis for 9 months. I was placed on the waiting list for a kidney for six weeks and got a kidney in Aug of 1990. That kidney lasted 13 years and the disease reappeared in my new transplanted kidney. They said that only 1% gets the same disorder and I guess I was the 1%. So in May of 2003 the year my daughter was to graduate from High School I recieved my second kidney after being on the list for 2 weeks. I was in the hospital in recovery for only two days after that transplant and this one is doing pretty well. A few years back I had part my small intestines die on me and they had to go in there and take that section out. I was on a ostomy bag for nine months. Then they went back in there to do the reversal surgury and that wasn't successful. I inturn had to have another surgury to take out about 5ft of my small intestines again.
