Sandi's Story
Graduated from IU in 1973 and moved to San Francisco with some friends. Got involved in political action during college and continued as an organizer in California for 5 years, Kansas City for 2, New York for 5 (where I met my future husband Bill). We moved to Milwaukee in 1985 and lived there until 1990, then to Pittsburgh until 1997, and then to his hometown on Minneapolis (to take care of his folks) where we live now. I am retired from the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Center where I had a variety of administrative support projects including Communications Coordinator and web editor. . We got married in 1991.
No kids though I have a ton of great nieces and nephews and great greats (grands) as well, most of whom live in Indiana. Two cats. I sing in the Twin Cities Women’s Choir and its small auditioned A Capella ensemble ENCORE. I am currently President of the board of. Directors of Her Voice Productions, which includes the two choirs I sing with and the Twin Cities Girls’ Choir. Our mission is to elevate the voices of women and girls. Take voice lessons and beginning piano lessons at MacPhail School of Music and am an avid Pilates Reformer user. And I remain active in fights for justice. Life goes on.
