Sandie's Story

Married 3 times; widowed the last time and that was 34 years ago. I have 3 wonderful children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. I was a minister for 10 years in the Unity Church. Then I finished my training to become a Psychiatric Tech. I was the first woman trained in CA to work with criminally insane men in a maximum security prison. It was very rewarding and very challenging. I retired at 50 due to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and I am loving being retired! What a joy. I've had many varied, intriguing and challenging experiences throughout my life, but I have loved every moment. Helping people learn to love themselves and value themselves has always been part of my life. I've been happy and very contented. Now I am waiting for love, and I feel it is almost here. I am a whoistic healer and at one time had a clinic in CA where I taught health care professionals how to diagnose and heal through the aura. I am also a clairvoyant and read tarot cards. I used to give readings full time, but now only on request. I play with the Society for Creative Anachronism <SCA>. We are a history re-creation organization that is international. We center on the Medieval period of history; research their lives and re-create it the best we can. I have Mr. Barry to thank for that. He instilled a love of Medival architecture and history and literature in me and it stuck. Thanks to all of you for giving me a wonderful beginning to my life. Oh; changed my name about 36 years ago. It's Angel H. Winges now. I always wanted to be a actress when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a rediculous idea. As it turns out, they were right. I always wanted to be a minister when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a rediculous idea. As it turns out, they were wrong.. I knit socks. It relaxes me and is like a meditation. My heros incluce Mr. Barry. He inspired me so many times and never knew it. I am also inspired by Goldy Hawn, Susan Saradan, Oprah, Meya Angelou, Bill Clinton, Lisa Thiel, Gypsy Enchantress, cats. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is David Barry, because he inspired me more than anyone else in school.. Cats. I can't live without a cat. They are soft, sensual, and always love being touched. My Service Dog Luna Girl. She died in 2008, but while she lived she took me from the verge of being wheelchair bound for the rest of my life to walking 2 to 5 miles a day in all kinds of weather. She uplifted me and inspired me. She gave me back my life. My biggest hero is my eldest son Troy. With no high school diploma and a mensa intelligence he rose through the military from the bottom to Warrent Officer, to pilot, to officer to debriefing Congressional committies. He holds a Presidential Security Clearance. He was part of a team of 200 people who formulated Homeland Security and made it work. He is an awesome dad and has improved himself through the years in so many ways. I am so very proud of him. Life is one ongoing surprise. Adapt and be patient. If I won $100 million, I'd give 13 million of it to be divided between my children and grandchildren, then spend the r...Expand for more
est on investments and charities, a new car and land and the home of my dream in the country.. My current age is 69. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be happy and contented. I was so completely right about myself, but wrong about the average person.. To teach healing again and be able to run a healing clinic for the public at least one day a week. To be a consultant to physicians as a healer. My best friend would tell you I'm the wisest woman she knows, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet and very nice.. Yes. My lifestyle has to dress modes: casual and 12th century Anglo-Saxon. I like the later best; much more comfortable. I share my home with my Siamese cat, which I find soothing.. In 10 years, I hope to be dancing the tango. I'm going to get there by finding a partner.. My oldest friend is Toni Leonardini. We met when I was forming a CAW nest <think Heinlain>. I joined her women's circle and she joined my Coven. We've couseled each other through heartbreaks, children'l problems, depression, joy, everything. We have inspired each other and helped each other grow through the years. I am her Mentor. I love her more deeply than family and trust her with my life. Walking through a field of strawberries with my great-grandmother on her plantation. She farmed throughout WWII and fed all of our family and all of her neighbors through the war. She was a loving compassionate woman who believed in community. I always wanted to be a minister when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a rediculous idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. It became my life.. I knit socks. It is a form of meditation for me. My hero is my eldest son. He is an awesome human being. With no high school dipoma, but a genius IQ, he went from a Pvt. in the Army to a Warrent Officer, then a pilot, then an Officer in the Coast Guard. He coordinated the Haitian rescue between all the armed services. He was one of a team of 200 people who formulated Homeland Security and made it work. He debriefed Congressional Committees on military issues. He still doesn't have a GED or a college dipolma, but he is in big demand with the DOD. He is an awesome father and through the years has found ways to better himself and grow as a spiritual being and a man. Can you tell I'm proud of him? The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is David Jagodzinski Barry, because he inspired me more than any teacher I have ever had and he changed my life without ever knowing it.. Cats, reading, designing and making one of a kind quilts, knitting socks, 12th century Norman and Anglo Saxon clothing, and the SCA. Those are my obsessions. Every day is a surprise. Relax and adjust. If I won $100 million, I'd give $15 million of it to be divided between my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, then spend the rest on investsments and charities, a new car and 1000 acres of land and the home of my dreams.. My current age is 69. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be happy and contented with life. I was so completely right for myself, but wrong about the average person..
