Sandra's Story
Life
My Spouse
We met while working. I helped train him.
My Kids
I think I have the greatest kids I know. My son, Zach, is 22 years old. He lives in New York City and has been working for a major recording studio as an assistant engineer. He is even more into music than I was and he's very talented on guitar and plays several other instruments. My daughter, Emily, who is 16, is clever, creative, lovely and thoughtful. She now has a part-time job and soon to have a driver's license! They are polite to others and fun to be around. Oh, and they're not too spoiled.
My Job
I'm a contract investigator for people in defense-related industries that need top secret security clearances.
School
Those of you who remember me, probably also recall the only boyfriend I had in those four years of high school. Suffice it to say it was an unhealthy relationship, but maybe that's not all that unusual for all of us back then. I think I learned from it, maybe not as fast as I...Expand for more
would have liked to. They were lessons I tried to pass on to my kids, especially my daughter, so that she will make better choices in high school dating. I honestly don't remember very many teachers. I remember the band/orchestra leader, Mr. Wolf and he was a very nice guy. I remember the social studies/psychology teacher, but not his name. He was a nut case! Since I sing in a community chorus now, I wish I'd sung in the school chorus -- or did we even have one?
Workplace
I have been working as a Government investigator for 24 years. Whew! I first started as a full-time Government employee and became a contractor about 17 years ago. The nice thing about working for myself is that I can make my own hours and work when it suits me and my family. Unfortunately, I don't get a regular paycheck like other people, but you learn to adjust for that. I have met some very intersting people and gone to some pretty nice places because you really get around a lot in a job like this.
