Sandra's Story

Life I moved to Florida after 10th grade, but remained in touch with several close friends from Wheaton. I actually graduated from Coconut Creek High in south FL and then attended UF with a major in Animal Science. I eventually went into Nursing and enjoyed a nice, long career, primarily in pediatrics in and around Miami. I met and married my husband, Jack, in Coral Gables where we lived until 2001. We have moved further North, but remain big fans of the Sunshine State, so we built our current home in Winter Park, FL. I gave up Nursing several years ago, but I keep my license active and volunteer my time for a hospice organization in Central FL. Personally... no children of my own, but 2 step-daughters and 5 grandchildren (so far!). Pets? An adorable kitty, named Hedy, 7 tortoise...Expand for more
s. One tortoise is a LARGE, 18 year old African Spurred tortoise, the others are Ornate Boxers from the US desert SW. I also raise peacocks, now that we live next door to a wildlife preserve that is home to about 25 peafowl. I own two of my own and several of the native peahens nest in my yard every year. My little menagerie and my volunteering keep me fairly busy, but we enjoy traveling and visiting with family and friends... especially old, school friends. So, please feel free to get in touch! Update: Our newest home is complete....we've been liivng in it for about 2 1/2 years. We love it and it has LOTS of room for guests! Don't be a stranger! We love our little town of Winter Park...it's friendly and loaded with a charm all it's own. We'd love to show you around.....
