Sandra's Story

Life I was born in a hurricane in Jersey City, so that is how I came into the world. I went to St. Joseph's Grammar School (no longer there) in Union City and then NBHS. After 4 yrs of Montclair St. Colege, it was off to find a job in teaching French. No easy task. I took over pregnancy leaves, one year contracts, and went to Canada to get my MA in French, the teach French Immersion to grade K in Calgary, Alberta, CA. Because you have to get a job you have to be a landed immigrand (whatever that is) and to be a landed immigrant you had to have a job (figure that one out) it was a one yr. contract. Now I teach elementary Spanish in Lexington MA (since 1982) (French was eliminated several yrs ago) ...Expand for more
and like it a lot. I have composed over 24 children's songs on manners, good behavior, and safety. Not your usuall hobby, but I love it! I have three older cats and love them dearly. Life is interesting and never boring! Workplace I have taught French, Spanish, and Latin (don't know Latin, but the school gave me a book, and said "run with it!" I taught elementary French/Spanish for 16 years, but the school system cut the program, and I am back...in middle school after beginning teaching in middle school/high school...this is like the movie Groundhog Day! My music composing keeps me sane! My big claim to fame is I taught French the general manager of the Red Sox for three years. Kind of cool!
