Sandra's Story

I was blessed to marry my high school sweetheart Dick Pattee in April 1961, and spent the next 58 years by his side. We raised 4 children together, and welcomed 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren into our family. My husband passed away in March 2019, and I am having to learn how to live without him now. y Springs, Ca, having moved here to be near our youngest son and his family during the final years of Dick’s illness. Before that, we resided in Tracy, CA where Dick taught and was supervisor of Vocational education at the prison there. My schools include Eureka High School, Eureka Junior High, and Oakdale Elementary School.

This is the most difficult message I ever wrote. For those friends and family who haven’t heard yet, my sweet husband Dick passed away near dawn Saturday morning, March 23. It’s taken days to bear even writing those words.
