Sandra's Story

Retired!!! and enjoying the Hawaiian sun and sand.....and the great food. I am hoping to see my old classmates at the next reunion....and other classmates when I visit PA. Update: Well, I've been back here for almost 2 years already!! Can't believe it's been that long, but time flies when you're sleeping til 8 or 9 and taking long walks along the beach, to the park, or to get some grinds; or you could fiind me just sitting under the nearest palm tree reading a great book--which I do quite frequently. I recommend it to everyone. Despite what you might be thinking about tsunamis, I really feared the hurricanes and tornadoes of Florida much more than I do a tsunami...besides none have ever come in on Waikiki beach....Expand for more
....which is a 10 minute walk from my apt. Now if you are into large 3-bedroom homes with 2 baths and a huge yard to mow, well, I will warn that they ain't cheap here. But, I understand a condo where I rent is cheaper than those located near the beach in sunny Calif. This is reliable info from a neighbor.....anyway, my studio suits me fine since I clean less and have downsized to a manageable amount of junk. Well, I hope to hear from some of you....must go, it's pau hana. (end of day/work) Need to grab a plate lunch...katsu salmon, mixed grain rice, and side of veggie....all prepared by my local downhome Pioneer Saloon...sorry, no booze, despite the connotations name suggests! aloha, my Mainland ohana (family)
