I've always loved animals. For anyone who remembers me from high school, I worked at the Stone Mountain Game Ranch in my Junior and Senior year. I'll never forget the look on my parents' faces when I brought home a fawn to spend the night (we were bottle-feeding it at the Ranch, and it was my turn), or the time I brought home Opie, the opossum. After all these years, I still think working at the Game Ranch was the hardest (physical) work I have ever done, but at the same time, the most rewarding. From carting around feed buckets and "giving tours", to being spurred by a turkey, how many people today can say they've done this? I have had several dogs and cats over the years that have owned my heart, and currently live with a domestic short hair female cat who actually adopted my husband when we were looking for a new "baby" at the Gwinnett Humane Society.
