Sandra's Story
After Graduation I set out to be a successful career woman. I moved in with my cousin and set off to conquer the wold, but fate had other plans. Her husband ended up getting hurt at work, and ended up in the hospital. on the way to the hospital my cousin tells me "Wouldn't that be something if you found someone here fell in love and got married". Yeah right I wasn't even looking! Well, his roommate had been in an auto accident. He was in a Fiero and the the other guy was drunk driving a full sized pickup. Not a good combo. Well. his brother was there with him, and we were there with cousin's husband. Both of the guys were so full of meds they didn't even know we were there. So roommates brother says "hey they don't know we are even here want to go get a bite?" As they say that was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. We ended up seeing each other every weekend. He lived in CA and I was stuck in Phoenix. He would get off work Fri night and then drive all night just to spend the weekend with me. Then Easter Sunday in front of the whole church (After service) he drops to one knee and pops the question. Duh--- I said yes! I was planning a nice big wedding when he wanted me to quit my job and come see him in CA. Cousin says nope if she comes to see you she needs to have a ring on her finger first. He tells me pack your things I will be there in the ...Expand for more
morning! Sure enough he was there in the morning. We ended up getting married in Vegas. And the cab driver was our best man!! That was 20 years ago! For our 20th Anniversary we were able to renew our vows, and I finally got the big dress and family and friends around us.
We have had many ups and downs in that time. But, we always had each other and somehow we always make it thru. Husband owns his own Asphalt and sealcoating business. He makes enough that I am able to stay home. I now have 3 beautiful boys. Plus we ended up adopting the best friend of the youngest one. So, I guess I have 4 boys AND a husband. YIKES! When the boys were really little (before school) I was able to travel from job sight to job sight with him. So far I have seen 38 states( In fact one 4th of July we watched fireworks a the base of the Washington Monument, and right over the White House. When they were done we walked right up the middle of Penn. Ave. ) with more to come now that the boys are getting older.
My Aunt has also taken me on a couple of trips with her. The first one was on 2010 when we went to The Czech Republic, Germany,Switzerland, Italy, and France. And the second was in 2012 when we went to England and Wales. There MAY be another trip in future where we will see Ireland and Scotland.
I can hardly wait to see what the future holds for me and my little family!
