Sandra's Story

I GOT MARRIED IN JUNE OF 1972 AND I AM MARRIED TO THE SAME TERRIFIC MAN. WE HAD 3 CHILDREN, 1 GIRL AND 2 BOYS. I WORKED IN A COUPLE FLORISTS AS A FLORAL DESIGNER, THEN I WORKED FOR WALTER'S HOME APPLIANCE IN CANTON FOR 10 YEARS. AFTER THAT I OPENED MY OWN FLORIST IN WESTLAND. SANDY'S FLORIST AND GIFT SHOP. IT WAS GREAT HAVING YOUR OWN BUSINESS, AND SUPRISING HOW MANY SCHOOL MATES CAME IN TO BUY FLOWERS. THEN IN 2001 I CLOSED THE BUSINESS AND MY HUSBAND (LARRY) AND MYSELF RETIRED AND MOVE...Expand for more
D TO INDIAN RIVER, MI. THATS JUST 24 MILES STRAIGHT SOUTH OF THE MACKINAW BRIDGE. WITHIN 2 YEARS ALL OF OUR CHILDREN MOVED UP HERE WITH US. NOW I HAVE 3 GRANDCHILDREN AND 1 ON THE WAY. I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE 40TH CLASS REUNION, I HOPE THERE IS ONE. I HAVE KEPT IN TOUCH WITH SEVERAL CLASSMATES, AND THEY WANT TO GO TO THE NEXT REUNION TO. I THINK THE MOST EXCITING THING I HAVE EVER DONE WAS WHITE WATER RAFTING. WE WENT DOWN THE NEW RIVER IN W. VIRGINIA. BOTH UPPER AND LOWER. IT WAS GREAT.
