Sandra's Story
Life
Hi old friends, whoops shouldn't use that "old' word should I? Well life is not what it was in 1963 nor would I want it to be. I Have made the move back to Etowah, Tennessee and love it. I am in the process of purchasing a home on a mountain top. It is so secluded that we almost couldn't find it to look at it the first time. The "we" is myself and my ex husband. The man I was married to for some 19 years and we shared 4 great children together. Well both of our spouses have passed away and we found out that we could be friends again. So come next fall we will remarry. Cool huh? Now are children are excited that they will be able to reach both parents on the same phone line. It is amazing what maturity can do for compatibility. I have 6 grown children of whom I am proud of all. Two children from my previous marriage to Larry Dunn. You remember him we were always in the halls together. Good man, we just went separate ways. And four from Richard Sloan, my soon to be mate once again. I have 12 wonderful grand children, all of whom I am proud at this moment in their lives.
I am a doll collector, seamstress and wig maker. Of course that would be evident if you saw the interior of my house as it is brimming with my "little ones". I also have a doll website where I sell dollndollthings.com, which is also my website name. I sell on Ebay as I have MyLittleShoppe3 and also Grannysalleycat, and these are my user names on Ebay. I sell two kinds of things, thus the two names. I would love to connect with other people who have these same likes and hobbies.
I have been given grace by God to survive 6 heart attacks and so I live sedately but fully. I enjoy doing all of the things I have done all of my life but with a little less energy, my enthusiasm is the same. My one goal in life is to see my family walking with God as their Lord and Master. He has always done r...Expand for more
ight by me and know He will, and has done right by them. I have not achieved in life what my dreams were as a teenager, thank God. And I may have strayed from the norm, but I am at this point in my life perfectly content with things and look forward to what God has in store for my future. I do still have one....a future.
Guess I left out a few years of my life when first posting here. I have been married 4 times. Can you believe that mousey little brunette from high school doing such a thing? I am not an easy person to live with. 2 divorces, 2 by death (and no I didn't kill them).
Would love to converse via email with some of my old, whoops, friends from long ago. Or even those with whom I never had the pleasure of being an acquaintance with. So don't be as shy as I was in school. I have over come that obstacle. And it is that, because life is very short and gets shorter with every passing day.
Workplace
My work place is my home. I work about 18 hours a day with my website and my Ebaying....But considering I sell mostly doll stuff I guess you could say a lot of it is play at least 8 of the 18 hours. I have worked in my home more than outside my home for the last 44 years. Raising 6 children was a full time job and it proved to be worth it because they are all very good people and no one dare say anything else....So I guess you can say that out of 44 years about 30 of those years have been within my home. So for that reason I am now retired even tho I still live in my home and still work in my home, but with another position. I may have missed out on all of the pressure and rat race (and money) but I do not regret what I have contributed to this world...six wonderful people of very high standards....not too bad for a small town girl, huh? Besides I probably make as much doing what I do as those who are still working with all of that pressure and rat race.....
