Sandra's Story
Life
I have several cats, a husband, one child (adopted niece) and no grandchildren (although my husband has 6 great grandchildren). My adopted daughter, Tamara, lives near me, but has chosen not to have children.
Both of my brothers (Alton and Jon) are dead and buried in Belize where they lived for many years.
I am retired from teaching at the University of Tennessee (17 yrs) and working in the Human Development laboratory at the University Hospital (17 yrs). I graduated from Eastern Illinois and the Univ. of Chicago.
My husband is a native Tennessean and that explains my remaining here for what is now the majority of my life. He is retired from TVA where he worked as a CPA.
I travel a lot (over...Expand for more
seas at least once a year). Seen most of Latin America and Europe; much of Africa, but only China in Asia. My husband is in poor health and hasn't traveled with me for the last 5 years.
I have driven through Dupo a few times since my mother moved away (early 60's). Hasn't changed as much as I would have thought.
Add on, 2020 - My husband died 2 years ago. I remain at the same address, and prior to the pandemic I increased my overseas travel to twice a year. In November I returned from my second trip to Argentina and Chile (and threw in Uruguay for good measure). Went to Borneo last year; I liked Borneo very much. I will go back to Belize to visit relatives as soon as everything opens back up.
