Sandra's Story
Life
*The girls are on their own and I have too much alone time, but I have a few good ideas how I'd like to spend it! (Ha).
*Life sure is full of surprises...you never know what today will bring! I like to think of today, because tomorrow never comes. So, I am enjoying each day to the max and finding much joy in everyday life these days. Keeps a smile on my face and everyone around me!
What more can anyone ask for?
*My son is home with me again after 2 years in nursing homes and I can finally sleep through the nights knowing he is being taken care of properly. I have definitely decided insanity is inherited from our children. Such rewards though!
I thoroughly enjoy my grandchildren who insist I am only in my 30's when anyone asks my age. (gotta love that huh?) At least they think I am a cool lady which makes me feel special.
*My oldest grandson constantly finds expensive jewelry he thinks I should be wearing. (cute huh?) Too bad I never met a man like that, but who cares, some poor guy is missing the time of his life because material things mean nothing...love is the answer.
*Haven't been out in the dating scene. (Guess Mother was right when she told me "your prince charming isn't going...Expand for more
to come knocking on the door" - that's for sure!) but it's not like the old days with so much scary stuff out there. Am very happy with my life, but would like to hear from friends more. So, take a minute, E-Mail me !
School
My HS Sweetheart knows who he is.
So many teachers inspired me in many ways. I thoroughly enjoyed HS.
College
Nursing school was the HARDEST thing I ever tackled. But, it sure is rewarding.
Workplace
I went from HS to homemaker; to working for a retailer (while in college taking computer science courses)...then on to work for Reynolds and Reynolds (Dayton) computer company. Then Nursing school and am an active Registered Nurse working private duty with babies and kids with trachs and feeding tubes and on ventillators and loving every bit of it! What can I say...I've worked since I was 14!
Military
My Father forbid my joining no matter how much I argued the issue. I have a great respect for all our service men and women. GOD BLESS you all.
GOD BLESS AMERICA
My first job was at Miami Valley Hospital, where I got paid ?? to run mail and deliver central supply items. What I remember most about it is how friendly the nurses and respiratory therapy staff were to me.
