October 1, 2018 marked the Dedication of the Historical Marker honoring SHS Class of 1943 and their amazing accomplishment with the "Buy a Bomber" program, on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Milepost 176.2, Mabry's Mill in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. It's extraordinary that South High students from GR, MI are forever honored on this historical marker in Virginia! Check it out in southern VA near the NC border. Take a photo of yourself there and send it to me. In August a middle-grade Historical Fiction version of the Bomber story was published. Pick it up on Amazon.com -- SHE STARTED IT ALL! Check out familiar names in the story but remember, it's ALL FICTION....Historical fiction. Thank you to EVERYONE who attended the four events in GR in September to honor the story of the Class of 1943 and their incredible accomplishment selling over $375,000 worth of US War Bonds and US Defense Stamps and bought a B-17 Bomber.
