Sandra Dubois:

CLASS OF 1968
San mateo, CA

Sandra's Story

I got married in 1969, divorced in 1989. Was a stay-at-home wife that worked as a teacher's aid for 10 years once my kids were in school. Once separated went back to college to get current skills, computer skills, etc. Two of the classes I took had to do with singing trying to keep balanced. One was a voice class where the teacher said I have a voice for Opera. The other was the Skyline choir. I also belong to my Church Choir. And I also belong to our Coastside Chorale. So, most of the time I was in at least 2 choirs at any one time. In High School I do not believe I had a big voice but once I started lessons My voice did get bigger. At one...Expand for more
point the teacher was to choose people from the voice class to participate in a music presentation to represent our class and I was one of 3 chosen. In by voice class I was one of the top students and I felt pretty good about being chosen. I have done medical transcriptiond--as an independent contractor. I now work for Kaiser. I have two grown children and my daughter has two children. I am still in two choirs- Coastside Chorale and Church Choir. I have sung solo. It is still hard to put myself out there but I know I can with my voice. In High School I had a lyric Soprano voice. I am now considered a Metzo-soprano and I sing mostly Alto.
