Sandra's Story
Sandra is from Dinwiddie, Virginia. Sandra's schools include Mount Level Elementary School in Dinwiddie, Mt. Level Elementary School in Stony Creek, Harry E. James Elementary School in Hopewell, Carter G. Woodson Elementary School in Hopewell, Southside High School in Dinwiddie, and Dinwiddie County High School. Sandra later attended University of Louisville (Business Management) , Elizabethtown Coimmunity College (Business Management) . Sandra worked for United Parcel Services, Proffitt's Department, the Pan-African Studies Department at University of Louisville after leaving the military, and she also worked for Central State Hospital for the Mentally Retarded and F.H. Lawson prior to entering the U. S. Army. She served in the Army from 5 September 1974 until being 100% medically retired 1 July 1991.

they're twins), and a handsome 2 year old grandson. My maiden name is Roney & my name after my first marriage was Hammond. I am a 100% disabled veteran of the United States Army with just short of 17 years (2 months 4 days). I was born in Stony Creek, Virginia and grew up in Dinwiddie with my grandparents (September1950 - June1960), in Hopewell with my mom & dad (June1960 -July 1963), and back to my grandparents in Dinwiddie (July 1963 - July 1967). From there, my parents, grandparents, and baby brother are deceased. I got married to Earl Hammond in 1966 and moved various places such as Bunker Hill, Peru, Kokomo, and Indianapolis, Indiana. I began working for Central State Hospital for the Mentally Handicapped in 1974, I decided to join the Army because I wanted to go to college and my job schedule never gave me that opportunity. I love to watch movies, mostly blaxplotation, thriller, suspense, & action movies, all genres of music, but I prefer 60s-90s R&B. I sew, make jewelry, and write poetry.I have two books of poetry published. If I had the chance and the funds, I'd love to travel to the Carribean, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Disney World, etc. In all of my life, I've never taken a vacation, but I'd really and truly love to take at least one. My motivation & inspiration came from my grandmother, (which is why I love to write poetry) who would've been 107 years old on 25 November 2011 (She passed away 5 November 2011). I've spent many years trying to locate and contact as many of my family members as I can; Roneys, Bonners, Pembertons, Yates, and Masons. I have found many Roneys since I joined Facebook three years ago. The Roneys originated in Ireland, but our clan began in Rappahannock, VA, the Bonners (to the best of my knowledge) came from Sussex, VA, the Pembertons came from Prince William County, VA, but I'm not certain of the Yates or Masons.".
I have been living in Radcliff, KY since 1986. My daughter (Tanisha), granddaughter (Tivian), and grandson (Rennie, after my baby brother) live with me in our cute little 3 bedroom, ranch style house. I'm 100% unemployable from the U.S. Army, so I stayed at home and took care of my granddaughter and grandson while my daughter went to college. Now, my daughter takes care of me. I'm planning for our first vacation to the Bahamas in 2017, hopefully. It's supposed to be Tanisha, Tivian, Jasmine, Emerald, Carolyn (my baby brother's widow), Rennie, and me. Right now, it all hinges on Tanisha's, Jasmine's, and Emerald's jobs. Right now, it'll just be Carolyn and me.
