Sandra's Story

Life I can't say my life has been hard, its just been challeging and getting better with time. Being 55 years old puts a different twist on life, as I'm sure some of you already know..... I've been married 3 times since 1973 and have been divorced since 1990. I decided to just raise my kids by myself and get on with life. I have three children, my oldest son(32yrs), my youngest son(30yrs) ,and my daughter(22 yrs) which she and her husband lives with her in-laws in Louisiana. My sons have jobs and lives of their own in Everett,WA and DesMoines, WA. My oldest son Erik and his wife Iliana blessed me with the name "Granny Smith" for the first time on May 6th of 2005, to a wonderful baby boy(Anthony Michael). Also, on Jan. 12th, 2007 once again I have been blessed by my youngest son Paul and Jenn his "wife to be" at that time, with a beautiful baby girl(Allie Arya), which now makes me "Granny Smith" twice over! Which he is now married and truly happy. And last but not least on Jan. 10, 2008, my daughter Amber has blessed me yet again with a beautiful baby girl(Nevaeh Marie) "Granny Smith", third times a charm!! And now my daughter Amber and her husband David are having another little girl in April 2010. I also have several instant grand children that came with the wives and husband of my children. I've been in Auburn/Seattle area for at least 22 years now. I worked for a company called Zellerbach in Tukwila, WA. for at least 3 years and then they were bought out by a company called International Paper and Xpedx, that I have worked steadily for up to the present time for 13 years. I make mock-ups (drafting, /books, folders, etc.) kinda like a mini bindery and send out educational and promotional products for printers and designers. I also do daily scanning and filing of PODs and internal reports. I like my present life, but not the single life I am left with, and I don't like the area where I live. I would rather be in a drier and more country location, but my children and money keeps me here. I believe in the "Big Man" upstairs and all the special gifts that surrounds us and I'm sure he has a plan for my life. I go camping most of the summer when time allows and go on road trips to get away from the city. I like listening to the sound a tree makes when the wind blows through it's branches and the peacefulness of the forest when the animals don't care that you're there....I guess you might say it's my way to get close to myself and God. I would really like to meet someone again someday so that I would have a friend to enjoy life with, that's the hardest part of being by yourself. I have been on classmates.com trying to find a few friends that I have missed seeing after all these years and you can find me more easily on face book. Just put in my name and Auburn, WA and there I am! On Feb. 10th, 2006 I was contacted by Frank Andreas class of 1973 On May 17th I flew down to Simi Valley, CA. to meet up with Frank and celebrate his 51st birthday and we had a real cool time together....Ahhh! The memories we shared!! And then, on Janurary 26th, 2009, I was contacted by Ricky Shryack, Class of 1972, we had a good time talking about the past, present, and the future. Although,he does miss his f...Expand for more
amily and it was good talking to him again. We plan on gettin' ahold of each other again when in town. I wish I could see more of my High School friends, that would be so cool, we've lost so many of our classmates over the years. Still single in Auburn, WA. 206-307-5227 (cell phone) School I had loads of friends, some close, some not so close. I mostly had guy friends, as I didn't like the clicks of the girl side of things. I had alot of brothers that were classmates and guys that would be there if trouble arised. There were a few girls that weren't in those clicks and they were cool. There was this upper classman 1972 (Ricky S.) that I really liked and we had our fun time together and my parents liked him, but we went our separate ways, which is cool. I know he's doin' ok. High school was always so roller-coasterish, but fun. There was only one guy I really liked in my later part of high school and I married him, but things change so fast when you get out high school and I was dumb, as most teenagers are. He only knows who he was we had classes together, hung out together at lunchtime, and hung out with his family and our friends all the time. I got married to him a week before graduation. And "NO" I wasn't pregnant! It was just all timing. This guy proved to be the best time in my life that I will probably ever have. I didn't do any partying in high school so I missed out on alot of fun back then, it may have saved my life. The teacher that inspired me most was in Automotive Shop class, Mr. Shea. He taught me to go for what I know and the rest will follow. Also, don't ever think you can't do what you want in life just take the first step it will happen. To this day, I can still work on my SUV without being intimidated with all the bells and whistles...I even have my own tools!! He gave me confidence in myself...Mr. Shea, if you can see me from heaven, thank you for smiling on my life!! I enjoyed high school track, as it gave me a sense of power and adrenaline rush to fly through the finish line. Plus it made my Dad proud of me! I think I would do high school again, but there wouldn't be much I would change....Maybe be more out going! I enjoyed high school, it gave me a chance to socialize with people my own age and interests. My funniest memory was at our graduating class party in front of the high school. We had all been out there partying and having a good time(racing, talking, tailgating mostly). When everyone started to leave Jordon N. and I(married at that time), he inched our Chevy Van back and forth infront of the front doors of the high school until the van was up against the front doors of the school. No one could get in or out of the school the next day through the front doors! The Principal pounded on the van doors until we woke up and opened the door to the van and he yelled at us to "MOVE YOUR (blankin') VAN!! We can't get in the front doors to start school" It was all good as we got his dander up and we all laughed after was all said and done. It was the best time ever!! I get a little edgy when I have to share these memories with my kids as I have seen myself in my kids at times. They just laugh at me!! Best to ya'll in your life ahead.....Stay cool and don't drool.....LOL
