Sandy's Story
Life
After graduation, and while attending CalArts, I worked in various illustrative and graphic design positions for Disney, Chuck Jones Productions and Hanna Barbera, as well as the major studios. I also was involved in the production of numerous main titles and trade ads for features and TV shows. Throughout that time, I was also active in search & rescue work, while working with a local ski patrol and law enforcement agency.
I left California in '83 and moved to Vermont (where my family moved in '79 , and ran a 4-season country inn for nearly 20 years). I continued my graphic design and illustration work, as the creative director for a marketing firm, and resumed my involvement in EMS & the Fire service. Now, I'm one of the senior medics in our community, a firefighter as well as the Deputy Emergency Management Director and Logistics Officer for our community. Still designing main titles, trade ads and corporate logos (can't quit drawing on cocktail napkins, either...). I am also the president of an international EMS, Fire and Rescue products company. rketing, graphic design & sales pros... but, we are also in either professional or volunteer public safety agencies.) Our products are all made in-house & are used worldwide... by local, state, governmental & industrial agencies.
Hey... drawing are nice to look at, but none of them ever made a serious impact in anyone's life (that I know of... outside of the yearbooks, that is)! Although the art work is more financially rewarding, what I do via Fire-Rescue Products, International (a division of our marketing company: The Image Group, Inc.) and within my community... I find it far more spiritually benificial, as it pays greater dividends.
Without wanting to sound like a game show contestant... I am very happily married (4/21/84) to my beautiful wife... Margaret, and we have two great kids: Nicholas - now a tall and handsome 20 year old college man, and Hannah - our lovely 16 year old horse woman. Truly, if I (we) leave a legacy worthy of attention, it is surely these two wonderful kids.
To my fellow HHS alumnae... remember who you are and never forget to always... "Achieve the Honorable".
