Sandy's Story

After graduation, I went to Pierce College for a while to study dance. I married Steve Vandeman and we moved to Catalina Island and lived there several years. My son was born in the Avalon Hospital. I made my dream come true & started painting and sold paintings to people all over the world before I ever had a lesson. We divorced and I moved to Santa Barbara to be with my family. o study samba, my favorite. Still sell my art work on Catalina Island and at Catalina Express Long Beach. About 10 years ago I decided I wanted to read music and I'm making another dream come true playing piano. Yes, I can read music! There are so many beautiful compositions to learn. I'm in heaven. My son Dirk is in advertising and a pro golfer. He taught advertising at San Francisco School of Art & Design. I'm a very proud mom. I'm blessed, very grateful & live in Santa Barbara, California.
