Sandy's Story
Sandy is from Concord, New Hampshire, has lived in Barstow, CA., Chicago, IL, Orlando, FL and currently resides on Pleasant Lake, Northwood, NH and winters in Florida and California. Sandy's schools include Goffstown High School and Mount Ida Jr. College in Newton Centre, Mass. After working for Secretary of State, Robert Stark as corporate clerk, Sandy was Vice President of Waters Funeral Home, Concord (Her husband Jack's business) Sandy worked at ATA Airlines, having been based in Chicago and Orlando for 10 years, doing domestic and international flying. Great time of my life after my children were grown, and starting families of their own. Ambition is to travel to the only six states I have not been in, and continue international travel to some of the countries I have not seen. "Have Passport, Will Travel"!!
Both my Son, Shaun (born in 1974) and Daughter, Joanna (born in 1978) run the family business as both are funeral directors at our Funeral Home in Concord, NH. I am a widow. My husband, Jack passed away on May 5, 2011. I have 5 granddaughters, Katherine, 19, Emma, 16, Erin, 12, Ashlyn, 8 and Riley, 5.
TV shows Sandy likes include History Channel, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, Pawn Stars, (yes, I said PAWN) Old episodes of Happy Days...Expand for more
, Frasier and Golden Girls and I Love Lucy (which is the only American show you can watch in Japan in English) Also enjoy the classic movies, comedies and chic flix! Favorite all time movies: Gone With The Wind, An Officer and a Gentleman, Jaws, anything with Sandra Bullock, Morgan Freeman and Paul Newman to name a few.
Enjoy reading James Patterson and Sandra Brown. Hated History in school, now can not get enough of it. Wish I didn't feel back then "why do we need to know this stuff....we are the "future"...that is where I am going."
Enjoy the Arts and a member of Concord Center For The Arts. Have seen several Broadway Hits in London, Chicago and New York.
Actively, enjoying retirement. My granddaughter, Riley, the 5 year old asked me recently when we were shopping together, "Nini" as I am called by all my granddaughters....(was supposed to be Nana, but came out by Emma Nini, and it stuck with all of them) "how do you buy all this stuff if you don't work?" I told her..".Hard work for all my life....remember that and you will be able to do the same when you are my age".
With back and knee problems, I REALLY miss GOLF and SKIING, but enjoy dancing and participation with the Sports on Nintendo Wii. Gonna try golf again before summer is over.
