Sarah's Story
Despite the fact that I figured I was gettin' the hell out of Burque as soon as I graduated, I found when I traveled to the places I thought I wanted to live-I found that they were always too...something (usually cold in the winter or humid) and that New Mexico was home. But as of recently, I no longer have any family in NM, I'm w/out any ties except to my two dogs and moving has again moved to the forefront. I do have a job that I love. I work for a small charter High School (I know, I couldn't wait to get out of high school. I used to look at Mr. Gault and think 'In two years I'm out of here- but you are stuck here-forever!' and laugh. Oh, the irony...) that has a high population of youth at risk. work with their short-cycle assessment testing and handle the instructional materials as well as whole host of other things like being a highly glorified hall monitor and expert at graffitti removal (more irony! Karma's a bi***!) I spent a lot of years in Restaurant/Bar mgmnt and I'm probably lucky to still be alive to talk about it. Which I'm sure we'll all be swapping stories soon enough at our upcoming 20yr (Eek!) Hope everyone is going. If you want to know more I'm much more inclined to use myspace.
