Sarah's Story

It's funny how life works sometimes. I now believe that a person is dealt a life of which they can handle, although I still sometimes question that. I have a wonderful husband, Jimmy, who would do anything for me, and I for him. We have a great relationship. I have a great step-son, Zack, that is wise beyond his 14 years (and driving a fully loaded/stock 4 cylinder race car). And I have a beautiful angel, Isabella, in heaven looking over me every day. my 2.5 months with my daughter, and now, my mission is to educate about Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a genetic disorder that can take the life of a child in an instant. It is more common than any of us think, even though it is hardly ever heard of. I have started out my mission in Massachusetts because that is where I lived when everything happened, now my world has expanded to my new home in Maine, and I feel blessed to be a shoulder to cry on if someone needs me for comfort from either state. Update- believe it or not, I have also now lost a son, Arren, to the same genetic disorder, while he was still in the womb.
