Full details: I graduated from Rice with a degree in biochemistry in 1998 and headed to Boston for grad school. 5.5 years later (January 2004), I earned my PhD in cell/molecular biology from Harvard, where I did basic research on breast cancer. After grad school, I moved to Philadelphia to be with my husband, who was working on his MBA at Wharton (Penn). I was pretty sick of working in a lab, having spent 24/7 there in grad school, and decided to try my hand at a writing career. I was employed for 2 years as a medical writer by a medical communications company, where I wrote up clinical trials and other data generated by pharmaceutical companies for physicians and PhDs to read in medical journals.
