Sarah's Story
Life
I have been living in the north most of the time since Chattanooga - Boston, Upstate New York, and Canada. I did spend a few years in Annapolis, Maryland, and went to law school in Washington, D.C., back at the end of the 60's when there seemed to be a riot or march on Washington every month or so. And I was lucky enough to spend a year in Australia - 1980-81. Now that retirement is looming, I am thinking about warm weather again - probably Georgia, where I still have family. My brothers are still in Chattanooga, but that is not as warm as Georgia.
I practiced law for a few years (New York) and then started teaching law in Canada, then moved on to Boston, where I have been teaching for many years. I still am teaching - and - I am already thinking about coming to our big reunion in 2008.

ack across Alaska and Canada by the Alcan Highway and then the TransCanada Highway - lots of mountains, the badlands, spectacular lakes and rivers. I just returned from a conference in New York, and spend Sunday going up to a new modern art center, Dia:Beacon, which has some exciting exhibits, especially by Richard Serra and Sol LeWitt.
Around here, I enjoy cycling and snorkeling at the beaches, especially near Rockport, on Cape Ann. The fish stock situation concerns me. I visited Newfoundland on a camping trip several years ago, when the depletion of the cod fisheries was first having an impact, and it is devastating, even in countries like Canada and the U.S. where people have some mobility and options, though even here at some cost to community and family, and quality of life in general. But if worldwide stocks are depleted, people will die.
I urge all readers to see the Al Gore movie about global warming, whether you agree with his politics or not. That is going to be an important political issue in the coming years.
Cheers to all,
Sarah
