Schinaeh's Story
Life
When I graduated from Poly Hs in June,1988, I did not know in what direction I wanted to go. I knew that I did not want to go to College full time (big mistake) so I started training to drive School Buses in July, of that year. I got my School Bus License in August, 1988 and started driving the little rug rats by September when school started back. I drove for Laidlaw for 11 years before I decided to drive for L.A.U.S.D. I have now been driving for them for 7 1/2 years. I have been a School Bus Driver the same amount of years I have been out of High School.
I had 1 son 2 years after I got out of high school and my 2nd son 3yrs after the first. Shortly after my 2nd son was born I became a single mother. Being single and a mom is a feit within itself, but I have no regrets.
Being single I felt it was best to leave the Valley,so I moved to Palmdale in 1994. I stayed in Palmdale (comuting to the Valley to work) until July,2003 and...Expand for more
that's when I moved to Corona.
I have been married twice. My first marriage, (which I consider my starter marriage) did not last very long. In between marriages I had 2 more sons (trying for that girl). By 1998 I was a single mother of 4 boys, (not high on the dating radar) but they were all I felt I needed. At least that's what I thought until I started dating my Husband.
I married my present husband in November, 2003 and 4 more children added into my family. Now we are a happy family of 10.
Today I still drive for L.A.U.S.D. I pick-up inner city kids and take them to the Valley. My supervisors office is a Poly HS. I guess my life is going full circle.
Those single days are over for me dating and hanging out with friends. They have been replaced with football, cheerleading, track, fundraisers, graduations, proms, and whatever else kids need mom and dad for. Life is never dull in the Turner household. I love it ,love it love it.
