Scott's Story
Life
After taking about a year off after graduating from high school, I entered military service in the Air Force in April 1988. I went to basic training in San Antonio, TX and then moved onto Tech School in Denver, CO. I spent about 8 months in Colorado. That was a great 8 months.
I spent 6 years in active duty and 1 year in the reserves working on the B-52 Bomber at Barksdale AFB. I meet my best friend while working at Barksdale and he later transferred to Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City, OK. I meet a mutual friend that was in Oklahoma City and ended up moving to Oklahoma and was in a 7 year relationship with her. When I moved to Oklahoma, I transferred from the Air Force Reserves into the Air National Guard. I continue to be a member of the ANG and will reach my 20 years total time in the military in 2008. I have been to Spain for 3 and a half months and also spent a little time in Austria and Germany during my military time.
I received my Associates degree from the Community College of the Air Force while attending classes at Louisiana Tech Univ. While at LA Tech Univ, I started working on a Bachelor's degree in Aviation. I transferred to the Univ. of Oklahoma's Aviation program when I moved to Oklahoma. I never completed the program but did earn my pilot's license with an instrument certification. In time, I have switched to working and studying main...Expand for more
ly in the IT industry and now work for a national medical billing and transcription company. I work in the IT department for the transcription side of the company and have been with them for over 5 years now. I still hope to get back to flying one day.
I have a great work schedule and have quite a bit of time off each week. I love traveling, especially driving, but as of late, the gas prices have curbed some of that. The farthest drive I've made so far is out west to the Grand Canyon. I tend to make a number of trips to Dallas. Still love to visit the amusement parks and try to scare myself with the latest thrill rides. I make it back to South Carolina from time to time, but not very often. Sometimes not even once a year. I have started trying to make it back at least once a year for family reunions.
I love photography but saying it was a hobby might even be stretching the definition of hobby. Other hobbies are watching movies and yes, even after working on computers at work, I still enjoy tinkering with them at home also. Oh, and I'm never without music. Love all types just as long as I don't have to go too long without hearing music.
I still think from time to time about moving back to the east coast, maybe Georgia. However, things are going well here and I have a few really good friends here that I would hate to leave behind. Time will tell....
