Scott's Story

Life From 1974-1988, I traveled throughout the U.S... among other things...playing music for a living in New Orleans, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Albequerque, L.A., San Francisco, San Diego, Portland OR, Minneapolis/Duluth MN., Charlotte NC, Washington D.C., and Frederick MD. I met my wife Karen in New York City in 1979. In 1988, while living in Frederick MD, with the pending birth of our first child Hannah, I decided to go back to school and get my degree. We moved to Laredo, TX where Karen's family lived and I started classes at the local Junior College. We moved to San Antonio in December,1989 where I continued school at UTSA, majoring in Music. During the summer of '91, I worked in Kodiak, AK to make enough money to move back to Ohio, get closer to family, and complete my studies. My son Evan was born in '92, my daughter Jenna, in '94. I graduated from The Ohio State University in 1995 with a degree in Education. After graduation, we moved to Texas and I taught Elementary Music in Laredo for 3 years. During the summer of '98 we moved to San Antonio for Hannah's medical needs...I continued teaching Elementary Music. During the summer of '01, after a prolonged hospitalization, Hannah's mom took her and her siblings to Laredo for the love and support of extended family. Unfortunately, the emotional strain of the moment and the stress of the last couple of years had taken its toll. Karen decided to stay in Laredo with my children and I was served a petition for divorce on Thanksgiving Eve'02... Without going into detail, the last few years have been hard...but by the Grace of God, I've survived. I'm still living in San Antonio...teaching, playing music, etc...hoping to release a CD of original Blues/Jazz composition...Expand for more
