Scott's Story
Life
I'll keep it short, for the moment, and try to come back later. After going to College of Marin w/ Steve Kasnoff, Dave Vaughan and Bruce Lackovic, and doing the Theatre Arts thing (which Bruce continued w/ at USC), I went to Chico State, did some time as a Frat guy with some other San Mariners (you all know who you were), and graduated Telecommunications (Broadcasting). After graduating, I came to S. Florida on a dive vacation, hit up with David Haylock, and spent the next 5 years hopping around the Carribean making documentary films, commercials, and news shorts. I started my own computer consulting company on the side in order to make ends meet, and next thing I knew, I wasn't doing quite so much shooting anymore. Now I'm doing systems and software fulltime, living in Boca Raton with an Irish Wolfhound named Duncan, a Rottie/Shepherd named Sasha, 4 cats, assorted fish and an assortment of wild critters that call the place home. *UPDATE* I was married on 03/02/01 to Suzan Ekmekci, a wonderful girl and top-notch accountant and financial analyst at Citrix. Maybe she can keep my spending in check {:o) *UPDATE* 04/15/2003 It's a boy! (Mattie) I'm now a dad! *UPDATE* 08/26/2005 And again! (Mitch). *UPDATE* 09/14/007 Both boys are growing like weeds (4 & 2 yrs old) and life with Suzan in our little slice of paradise is blissful and happy. Life is pretty darned good. *UPDATE* 4/24/2013 (Dad's 71'st Birthday!) Life is still wonderful. We've lost both the dogs mentioned in the first post, but now have a feisty little Corgi named "Po" (waiting for the boys to show a little more animal-husbandry initiative before giving them the Golden Retriever hat they've been asking for). Both boys are incredibly bright and outgoing. Mattie is well on his way to becoming one of the "Big Bang Theory" guys, and Mick is a sports nut (he's good at *every*...Expand for more
team sport he tries his hand at (though his love is hoops)). Still enjoying diving, swimming, juggling and racing cars. (I still have my MGC from High School and it serves double-duty as a nice-weather driver and weekend track-car). As a dad, homeowner and pet-lover I was forced into a... souped up full-sized American wagon (couldn't rock the minivan thing) when Mick was born. 14.2 in the Quarter Mile, keeps up with older Porsches at PBIR and the kids get to ride tailgunner; "The DaddyWagon".
Oct 2022 - Comin' out of COVID: Mattie's been attending FAU for the last year and a half, gradually going to more classes on campus, but still attending many remotely. He and his girlfriend (almost 3 yrs now) are starting to talk about going up to Gainesville (UF). Sean has *completely* changed. The team-sports jock who had me scared to death that he'd kill himself in his Corvette in his teens (He'd saved almost $2000 for it before he was 9) is now 17 and still hasn't gotten a learner's permit. His Corvette fund has long-since gone towards social online gaming and he has nothing but contempt for "jocks". He ended up going all atsy while in an IB pre-med program at a magnet school. He's now at Boca Raton High, but is in Cambridge AICE classes and gaining college credits (4.4 GPA) and has already gotten a few acceptance letters from colleges a month after starting his senior year. (UCF current front-runner). Percussion is now his life. He is Captain of the school's percussion section and on-loan to other marching bands. Quads and Marimba are his favorites.Both boys make us proud, but my WORD they are two *entirely* different people!! During the pandemic, our ownership in KY was amazed at how well we worked while remote and decided to forego the $20k/mo rent at our offices, so I'm now fulltiming from home. I miss having the comradarie of an office.
