Scott's Story

Life: Written a couple of books... Everyone should write at least one. What we have to teach is important. I'm an Independent Television Producer for CNN, NBC, & ESPN based in Washington DC. Working on a couple of television pilots; Making Life Easier™, MSAdventures™ with Clint Eastwood's daughter, Kimber Eastwood, and produce/direct the Polo National Championships. Trying to sell championships, unsuccessfully to date to ESPN or Fox Sports. Studied at a private University in Asia right after high school graduation. (Kept me out of being drafted to Nam.) Raced professionally (motocross) for the Yamaha factory team in Asia. Broke my neck, literally... did a ton of scuba diving over there, chased women, and went to school occasionally, didn't graduate though, had to much fun. Toured playing music (bass player) in Asia, Canada and US. Back in States I owned an Advertising Agency, sold it, retired and now live in Washington, DC. Love the pace, hate the amount of people here. I like New York better, lots of people but the pace is really crazy, LOVE IT THAT WAY! My favorite teacher? Actually there were many, each for a different reason. Bob Saxton, Biology teacher. Loved that guy! He told it like it is, loved his entertaining, singing, etc., Joyce Deagner (SP?) English teacher, she helped me find my writing voice. Without her I would never have written the books. Mr. Scott, PE Teacher. He saw the athlete in me I didn't know I had. And of course Jeanne Etter. She taught me to read, flirt, and to trust. A very special person/teacher. To be truly happy I would have a place in Rio. In 2006 at Carnival I found it to be a beautiful, romantic, magical place. Another very "centered" magical place I truly love is Asia. Spent four incredible years there. Lake Tahoe is one of the places in the states I enjoy, skiing, dinners on the water, and entertainment. Mt. Hood too! There is something there I can't ignore. I connect spiritually there, however, fly fishing, skiing, and just being is a great way to spent time there too. I Haven't been to Europe yet... love to go. I'd take my kids (one at a time, to reconnect) to these places an...Expand for more
d my very closest friend at that moment in time. I haven't been able to get anyone to go with me on my trips abroad. I can't drag them out of their comfort zones of here in the good ole' US of A. My biggest surprise is that I am actually doing what I love to do and realize we can all make that happen if we just start practicing and playing the part. STOP ALLOWING YOURSELF EXCUSES AND JUST DO IT. The rest will take care of itself. When in doubt, just watch a child learning to stand and take their first steps. It doesn't start with the steps, not even the standing and hanging on to things but a very slow process of developing the brain. Clip out pix from magazines, imagine your day to day life style of what it would be like... when you "have arrived". The muscles and the hand-eye coordination/depth perception will follow. Just practice being who you'd like to become. From little moves comes big results. The next thing you know you'll be up and running with the best of em'... livin' your dream. When you actually arrive there... create a new dream and go after it. The one thing that I would have done differently is to have gotten a teaching degree so I could teach television in High school and college. I was honored and blown away when the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon and the White House sent their television production staffs to me to give them advance training. Great for the ego (you do have a large one, Scott) and the credentials. However, for me, there is nothing like helping young people switch on their internal light, and being part of that when they "get it". They blossom in so many ways. It's incredible. I feel complete and have purpose. Kind of corny, huh. Hey I am a little corny and a lot more. I am working on the Performing Arts Institute.com/org here in DC. It's a non-profit institution I founded to advance the arts. We'll see... I just have what ever time I have and love to make things happen. The more... the better. Write me. I'd love to hear from all of you. Scott Just got back from being in South America for four months. Beautiful. OK so Bogota, Columbia wasn't so beautiful but the rest was incredible.
