Scott's Story
Life
Scott's long story made tolerably short:
DHS, U.Iowa Pharmacy (changed major), U.Iowa Science Edu. (got BS in BS), taught science and starved everywhere under the sun in IL and WI, wrote the greatest books never published while unemployed and selling possessions for food and printer paper in WI, now (11/20/05) back in IL studying Nuclear Medicine with hopes of spending remaining decades writing my books and jabbing people with radioactive needles for giggles and profit.
Oh, yeah . . . I'm also single, hating it, and have no kids, no pets, no plants, and dwindling patience in finding any of the aforementioned. Granted, I could put a collar on a ficus and mark two entries off the above to-do list, but the rest seem to be harder to find than I'd planned.

College

Workplace
I was a nurse's aid in HS for two years (gotta love bedpans and ho...Expand for more
spital corners). I'd been taking as many college courses as possible since summer of 1989 (pre-HS), and I accumulated a lot of debt because I made the mistake of studying (day&night courses) instead of working. This culminated in a $100,000+ degree in an area I never wanted to work. I did anyway for six years teaching Physics, Adv. Phy., Chem., Math, etc., but still couldn't pay rent some months.
I am presently back in health care studying Nuclear Medicine and will graduate in Aug. '06.
Oh yeah, I also write young adult novels, but have yet to have any published.
Military
I am most definitely NOT an army of one. I'm more of an armchair of one, to tell you the truth. I don't even know why you bothered to read this section on the off chance that I'd enlisted. Ahhh, you just wanted to use that clever "Sargeant Dork" line you've had rattling in your head for a while now. I understand. Get it out of your system. Hold the pose. Exhale. That's good.
Scott + guns = too terrible to imagine.
Honestly, I only trust myself with dull pencils these days.
