To the special people who I spent my formative years with please allow me to say that even after all these years the friendships I was lucky enough to have made and the experiences we all shared at Weston still make me smile and I treasure so much. Thank you all for the warm feelings and countless smiles you gave me both back then and magically to this very day. As the calendar seems to jokingly tell me that I am now 62...the memories at Weston seem often like only yesterday and when I close my eyes I can smell the popcorn at Weston Arena after my first house league hockey game. I frankly don't know if I started out really liking hockey all that much....but I could hardly wait for the cokes in the dressing room after the game on Saturday mornings and that incredible popcorn and the way it made the whole rink smell when you fumbled with your hockey bag and stumbled through the front door. Anyways...in the words of "The Joker" in The Dark Knight"..."here....we....go..." I graduated grade 13 and went to York University. That lasted about a year and a half due to the fact I had found a whole new world...parties ..pubs and shuffleboard...hehe. So one afternoon I decided to pay my Dad a visit at the old Mount Dennis Legion for a few "pops". He's sitting with a couple of men and he says,"I'd like you to meet "so-and-so here...he is the Head of Training at the Mississauga Fire Department.
