Life
I've came to California in 1996 to work as a software developer for an Internet startup. I've been here since gradually moving eastward from the Pasadena area to the San Bernardino Mountains where I live in a small picturesque town. I work for a national educational publishing company as a programmer and run a local community web site called RIMOFTHEWORLD.net. Recently, me and a team of four others, formed Vicinitas, LLC to develop community guides in other micropolitan areas.
Before moving to California, I lived in Bethlehem, PA. There, I worked for Dun & Bradstreet and continued my involvement with YoungLife as a leader. st-9/11 unemployment, financial strains, and failed relationships, I developed a growing frustration with myself and my world.
In December 2005, my father died. That tipped the scales in my desire to feel complete. After nearly 22 years of fighting myself and wrestling with my faith, in October 2006, I finally integrated my sexual orientation with my faith and, for the first time, accepted that I am gay. Since then, my previously strained relationship with my God has improved so amazingly. After nearly a lifetime of feeling ashamed and guilt-ridden over my identity, I finally realized that it wasn't God who rejected me, but I rejected me.
At 4:30 AM on an October morning in 2007, I got a call from brother, that my Mom died. I was crushed. I lost both of my parents in the previous two years. I'm still dealing with the pain from that loss and trying to make my life purposeful.
