Scott's Story
Life
I've been living in Europe for the past 8 years and it's been absolutely wonderful. After I graduated from Washington H.S. in 1990 I immediately started working in construction, upon the recommendation of my councilor (Mr. Brandscomb if you're out there, your advice that I wasn't college material was miserably wrong; I graduated at the top of my class. Thanks for nothing). This lasted for about four miserable years, after which I finally came to my senses and enrolled at Purdue University. Five years later, I graduated with two BAs - one in Political Science and one in Philosophy. After I finished up at Purdue I went to Europe to undertake graduate level studies at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. I completed that in 2000 with an MA in International Relations. I then moved to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina and began an internship with the Organisation for Stability and Co-operation in Europe and worked on Military/Arms Control issues. After I finished up the internship I started working for the same organisation in the Democratisation Department. ...Expand for more
After that, I became a Researcher for the Stability Pact for South East Europe, then in May 2001 I got a position with the OSCE Mission to Kosovo with the Department of Election Operations (we organized the first general election in Kosovo after the NATO bombardment), then in January 2002 I became a Political Adviser to the Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo. After that I came back to Bosnia and was a Democratisation Officer. After about 8 months I was promoted to the Senior and then became the Deputy Director of the Democratization Department. Currently, I'm the Senior Political Advisor to the Ambassador that runs the OSCE in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Basically, life has only gotten better and better for me after Washington HS. I have had really interesting jobs; I am living overseas; I get to travel all over Europe and meet people from all over the world on a daily basis. I really couldn't ask for more. I would really like to re-establish contact with some of you and find out what all you have been up to for the past 15+ years. I hope that some of you will drop me a line.
