Scott's Story
Best memories of my years at WJ: 1) my sweetheart, Cindy Snyder (now Warkentin), who remains one of the most important people in my life; 2) the wonderful experiences I had for 3 years as a member of Allen Harrison's biology classes (with his lab critters, "Ole Bo", "Slide Rule", and "Julius Squeezer" (the resident boa constrictors), and "Molly" (one of the rats). Mr. Harrison was, without question, the finest teacher I have ever known, including those I had in college. My closest friend was Don Winkler, who attended St. John's High School, and who was more like a brother to me than a buddy. After WJ, I attended Ohio Wesleyan Univ for 2 years, and then moved to Oahu, Hawaii for 1 year. When my father retired from the Marine Corps in 1963, we moved to Seattle, WA, where I graduated from the Univ...Expand for more
of Washington. I served in the Army from 1967 - 1973, with 2 tours in Germany and 1 tour in Vietnam. I completed my MS degree from the Univ of Utah in 1981. Most of my professional career centered around positions as human resources manager and director for various Northwest companies, including Weyerhaeuser, PACCAR (Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks), Spectra Physics, and 2 major biotechnology firms. Also taught for 4+ years with Chapman University, teaching graduate-level & MBA courses to American military personnel on US bases on Guam, Okinawa, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines. Have 1 son and 1 grandson, and am currently married to Pat Ford-Campbell. Semi-retired since 2007, and devoting much of my free time to woodworking and woodturning, making custom-made items plus pieces for general sale.
