Scott's Story
Life
** Barely graduated in 1983 from Colorado State University with a computer science degree.
** Worked for a high-tech startup before it was "the thing". Flew high, crashed big.
** Bounced around technology jobs in Colorado. Worst was an insurance company (nearest to death I want to be before I'm 88).
** Learned a smattering of Mandarin Chinese and went on the infamous rustic round-the-world trip for a year.
** Ended up in Singapore. Worked for a Chinese business then got an offer I c...Expand for more
ouldn't refuse from the evil empire of software (Microsoft if you couldn't guess).
** Got married to a very non-quiet Singaporean lady (think of the cliche and then reverse it).
** Left Singapore after five years, and have returned to the US.
** Ten years of work at Oracle -- another software empire -- during the day and waiting tables at our restaurant at night. Gotta keep myself busy!
** Now I'm running global advertising at Oracle. As a computer programmer, I am completely unqualified.
