Scott's Story
I was born and raised in Colorado Springs and left when I served a mission for the LDS church in California. Instead of coming back to Colorado I moved to Utah where I met my wonderful wife. I decided to get my Mechanical/Aerospace Degree from Utah State University and worked for Space Dynamics Laboratories doing upper atmospheric research on the Aurora Borealis. After working there for several years I accepted a research & development position, doing mechanical testing and analysis on propellant and composites from Thiokol (now ATK Launch Systems who among other things, builds the solid ...Expand for more
boosters for the shuttle). After 16 years I am now a manager over seeing the Mechanical / Ordnance / Software group. I have now lived in Cache Valley for 23 years, and could not think of living anywhere else (except Southern Utah). I have 4 children, two boys and two girls. My oldest is just starting collage, and my youngest has started 2nd grade. As a family we love to travel to Southern Utah and explore ancient Indian ruins. When asked where they want to go for summer vacation, my children always ask for S Utah, the wife says not again, how about Disney Land. We switch off each year.
