Scott's Story
Life
I'm living in Dallas, Texas where I have been since 1989. I miss the mountains and all the outdoor activities Colorado offers but, fortunately, I still get to go back frequently enough that I don't feel I have to move back. I go back every summer for a backpacking trip. I go back every November for the elk hunt. And, then between Thanksgivings, Christmas' and the ski trips, that makes about 5 trips a year to Colorado.
I still waterski as much as possible in the summers. And since both my kids now ski and wakeboard it makes it that much more fun. I got them going 3 years ago when my son (Kyle) was 5 and my daughter (Ally)was 4. They also love to snow ski. Actually, my daughter loves to ski and my boy loves to snowboard. We try to get at least one good ski trip in a year, if not two. Kyle is into everything that is X game related. He is great on the skateboard and inline skates as well. Ally is all girl, and loves clothes, music, and dancing.
They both enjoy basketball and are pretty good. As you can tell, I thoroughly enjoy hanging with my kids. Especially now since they are at such great ages (9 & 8) and we can have good conversations. And they still think daddy hung the moon. Unfortunately, I went through a divorce back in 200...Expand for more
0. Undoubtedly, the most difficult part of my life yet. It was devistating, and it took quite awhile to get going again. She and I are still very close, and we knew we needed to be for our kids' sake. Falling madly in love enough to marry was hard for me, but once I did, I gave it all that I had. And it still wasn't enough, which killed me. The idea of falling madly in love again really scares me. Anyway... maybe too much info. But, life goes on, and I have a wonderful family that I love dearly.
I got involved in Adventure Racing (Eco-Challenges) about 5 years ago as a way to enjoy my exercise. I'm involved with a group of people who participate in races when their schedules allow, and none of us take it too serious. We can always find enough to make a four-man/woman team for 1 day events. Those usually last anywhere from 12-18 hours, and include technical mountain biking, overland trekking and navigating, and kayaking. Mystery events are mixed in at varying points in the race to add a little extra to it.
I guess that is my life in a nutshell, without getting too deep or philosophical. I hope all my close friends from high school are doing well. Nothing makes me happier than to see good friends doing well in life, love, and career.
