Scott's Story

Ten years is long enough for the last life story, I¿ve superseded myself since then, so I'm rewriting. I decided to try experiencing the more intuitive and social side of life. Coming from a strong comfort zone in the analytical and task side it was rather like Alice down the rabbit hole to a very unknown and intimidating place. I took up tap dancing in a class full of kids that were all brilliant dancers compared to my embarrassing denseness. I stayed with it and in a year or two I was enjoying it very much and learned some Irish and Scottish dancing as well. If you are one of the few males in a small town dance school it isn¿t too remarkable to get asked to perform in their ballet company productions. I did and immensely enjoyed the challenge of applying myself whole heart to do real ballet dancing. For about four years I took class and performed in the Nutcracker each Holiday season as well as dancing a principal part in Midsummer Nights Dream (now one of my most memorable experiences!) Next I got into theater and that has been and still is a most rewarding experience. Actors are certainly a fun group to be around. Acting has given me a sanction to dive into some fairly weird alter-ego places an just let 'er rip! I never played music before either, however when my son took a passionate interest in playing bagpipes 10 years ago, I decided to try playing drums in his highland bagpipe band. I learned as I went along. Now I have lots of fun playing bass, tenor o...Expand for more
r snare drum as needed in two different bagpipe bands all year long. It has been a great interest and activity to share together with my son. I am still neither a great musician, nor socially skilled person but I¿ve been privileged to experience that side of life more than I ever expected to. When I changed my 25 year established role so drastically; that ended my long suffering marriage. I still have a business sharpening hairdressing shears and I grow organic fruit. I¿ve patented some scissors improvements and am perusing that as well. I travel around the country on business fairly often. I especially enjoy traveling overseas. I have often been to Germany, Japan and Korea. For the last several years I¿ve been renting out my house on Flathead Lake as a summer vacation rental. You can see it at: customsharpening.com Besides the orchard and garden, I now have some chickens and sheep. The self sufficient and independent frontier lifestyle has a certain appeal for me. I'm still not ready to join any thing like a green commune yet as I love to drive my classic and collectible polluter-mobiles and I have lots of them! I have to admit that even yet I am just not a natural dancer. Even so my sweetie and I go dancing every Sat. nite and have a great time with friends. If I didn't spread my self out over so many activities and interests I would probably excell much more at one or two things but my nature seems to compel me toward lots of involvements. Best Regards, Scott
