Life I moved from Parkview to Beloit after 10th grade but hated Beloit High School. I graduated early because I could and don't remember very many people from there. I started dating my wife right after graduating, she was a year ahead of me at Beloit High. I worked partime jobs for a couple years then went to Blackhawk Tech for a year (welding). I started working in a factory in Beloit. In 1983, I got married just after my wife graduated from UW-Whitewater and just before she started working at Oscar Mayer in Madison. About three years later my wife started going for her MBA at UW-Madison, and I started going for my Bachelors degree there full time. While in college we bought our first home and had two children, a boy and a girl. We both graduated and I started working for the WI Dept of Transportation as a Civil Engineer. She left Oscar Mayer (now Kraft Foods) to work for a smaller company. We bought a bigger house just outside of Madison and I started for my Master's degree in Civil Engineering part-time at the UW in 1994 and graduated in 1998. In 1999, in addition to working full time with the DOT, I became a part-time Motorcycle Safety Instructor for the DOT because I thought it would be fun. Motorcycling is a big passion for me and I have taken many cross country motorcycling trips and plan many more.
