Sean's Story
Life
After graduating from Mayfield High School, I left Las Cruces for what I thought were bigger and better things at The University of Maryland. Things didn't work out as planned and I returned to 'Cruces where I attended New Mexico State University.
While at NMSU, I became a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. I had a blast and made some incredible lifelong friends. After changing majors several times I finally figured out what I wanted to do with my life. I joined Air Force ROTC and eventually graduated in 1990 with a degree in engineering and a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.
I attended pilot training in Phoenix, AZ and have been stationed in Albuquerque, North Dakota, Texas, England and Washington D.C. I've flown the KC-135R which is like a giant airborne gas station used to refuel other planes. I've also flown the T-1A which is a converted business jet used to teach pilot candidates during Air Force pilot training. My last flying assignment was in the C-32A, which is a costomized Boeing 757 used to fly the Vice President, First Lady, Secretary of State, and other high ranking government officials. Force placed me in a staff (non-flying) job that should allow me and my family to stay in the D.C. area until I can retire from the Air Force.
I've done some pretty cool stuff in my job as an Air Force pilot, but none of it is as cool as getting married, having kids, and becoming a family.
I met my wife, Stephanie, while I was stationed in Arizona, and a couple of years later we were married. Our oldest daughter, Emily, was born in 1997 and Shannon was born in 1999.
Stephanie is a professional musician. She plays the violin in several different groups around the D.C. area, teaches at a private school, and runs her own violin studio.
Emily and Shannon keep us extremely busy with their school activities, violin, dance, and tae kwon do.
I could go on and on about how awesome my family is but I don't want to sound like one of those sappy holiday memos boasting of Little Jr's Einstein-like IQ or his superhuman soccer talents. I think you all know the memo(s) I'm referring to.
I'll spare you the pain and just say that my family and I are doing very well and we are extremely happy.
I assume since you're looking at my posting, our paths have crossed sometime in the past. Drop me a line. I'd love to catch up on old times.
