Life
God, I haven't seen anybody from Bellarmine for a long time. I live in Sacramento, went to college here and stayed. Pretty uneventful and typical life until a few years ago. Working, bought a home, traveled, in and out of relationships, etc.
Diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago, symptoms started at 37 years old unfortunately. Very unexpected. I was in tip top shape, competatively running races, skiing 20 plus times a year....Expand for more
Less than 1% of people get it this young or younger. Fortunately I have made it through and am officially a survivor. It was a long hall. 2 surgeries, 2 long rounds of chemotherapy, and radiation.
I have been financially lucky and am planning an early retirement now, especially after going through the illness. I am definitely ready to spend my time wisely, and enjoy as much as I can. It would be nice to reconnect with people.
