Seleta's Story
Hello....so most of us will turn or have turned 70 this year!!! Hard to believe isn't it...miss dear ones that didn't make it. I think of Alice (Collin) Larson...she was a dear friend and I still think of her. Life is a journey so they say and I agree...I spent 3 wasted years at Washington State....then worked and got married in 1966. Had a daughter in 72 and a son in 74....precious years with our children.
I got saved in 77 and this was a big and great happening in my life. What a comfort to know that our Sovereign and loving God has His Hand on me and all that He does in my life is for my ultimate good...whether these events are happy or sad...troubling or scary....I need not fear. It truly is a practice...a walk...a change in my thought life and it is so freeing. I pray each of you that haven't already...might consider Jesus.
Our daughter married in 93 and moved to Ohio ... our son married in 96 and moved to Massachusetts!!!!! So one day my husband came home and announced..."I'm retiring early and we are moving to Ohio!!!!" Having lived in Seattle all our lives and in the same house most of my life (we bought our house that I was raised in from my parents...and then ra...Expand for more
ised our kids there too)...it was a scary but exciting move. So many people told us..."don't follow your children" ha ha...we didn't listen. Our daughter moved to Tennessee 6 years after we moved here and our son has made several moves...we had thought he might wind up in Ohio but he is pastoring a church in Barrie Ontario...we are located right between our kids...7 hours north and 7 hours south...so that is good.....and maybe more of a blessing than we realize!! Ha ha
We have 6 wonderful delightful grandchildren from 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 and 6!! Having grandchildren is the absolute best thing!!!!! I know most of you would agree. They bring us so much joy!!!!
Haven't done much with drama...although in high school I was sure I would be a great Broadway actress....ha ha ha....II've written some plays and had a puppet ministry for a few years..it was fun!!
We do love Ohio but I have to say I miss the mountains and water and dear old friends and family. Hope to make it to the next reunion...I think I just made it to the 10 year and it was definitely "interesting"....fun to see everyone but the ones I knew the best weren't there, so that was disappointing. Well, this is my story!!
