Shaindel's Story
Life
After graduating from Argos High School, I moved to Montgomery, AL, to attend Huntingdon College and graduated with a B.A. in English. From there, I went to the University of Chicago and earned an M.A. in the Programs of Humanities, specializing in 19th Century British literature. After a few years teaching college part-time, I decided to pursue another graduate degree to better my chances of getting a full-time job teaching at the college level. uated with my M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Poetry) from Vermont College.
Since then, I taught at the college level for two years in Florida, decided I wasn't a Florida person, and landed myself in the eastern desert of Oregon. I teach at Blue Mountain Community College,in Pendleton, Oregon, where I live with my husband Lee. My first book, A Brief History of Time, came out in January of this year.
