Shane Fields:  

Life Chief Petty Officer Fields was born on June 1, 1971 in Kershaw County, South Carolina. He graduated from South Aiken High School in 1989. He joined the Navy in 1993, following the completion of Recruit Training. Petty Officer Fields’ first assignment was Naval Mobile Construction Battalion One Thirty-Three, Charlie Company Air Det. He arrived in 1994 and his first assignment was C-co Air Det. On his second Air Det tour in 1996, he was among the Seabees to go to Bosnia during Operation Joint Endeavor. He reported to Construction Battalion Unit Four Two Seven in 1998. He was a project supervisor and a Training Petty Officer. Chief Fields attended San Diego Community College while stationed at Construction Battalion Four Two Seven where he earned an Associate Degree of Arts in Behavioral Science. He returned to Naval Construction Battalion One Thirty in September of 2001 upon completion of steelworker C-advanced school. He was a project supervisor on several projects and is attending the University of Southern Mississippi in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Chief Fields finished a third tour on Air Det in 2003. He deployed to Iraq in support of “Iraqi Freedom” and was there in the begining of the war.
